Michael Thanh Tran is a storyteller.

Born in St. Louis, MO to Vietnamese refugees, Michael has performed with The Muny, the Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, the St. Louis Shakespeare Festival, Metro Theatre Company, and the Lyceum Theatre. His body of work also includes national advertising campaigns for brands like Logitech G and Edward Jones Financials.

He holds a BFA in Acting from the Webster Conservatory and is currently pursuing his MFA in Acting at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts | Graduate Acting Program. Chaired by award-winning director Carl Cofield, he was the recipient of the Tisch Scholarship and currently studies under Brandon J. Dirden, Jim Calder, Richard Feldman, Deborah Lapidus, and Janet Zarish.

Michael is an Associate Producer with the Action Art Collaborative, an organization dedicated to examining the social and economic landscape of communities and using the arts as a tool to amplify stories of people-power, solidarity, and social change. He was a member of Cohort #3 for Theatre Producers of Color, where he was mentored by Sammy Lopez and Miranda Gohh. In 2022, Michael received an Intimacy Captain Certificate from Ann C. James / Intimacy Coordinators of Color.

Michael resides in Brooklyn.
